A. Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect personal information such as your name, email address, and password.
- Vehicle Information: When you use our automotive apps, we collect your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to decode your vehicle's make, model, and year. You may choose to save this to your "My Garage" profile.
- User Content: We collect the information you provide when you use our Services. This includes part names you search for, chat messages, "Request for Quote" (RFQ) submissions, and photos you upload (e.g., pictures of auto parts).
- Communications: If you contact us for support, we may collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
B. Information We Collect Automatically
- Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you access and use our Services. This includes your IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, and actions you take within the app.
C. Sensitive Information & Specific Permissions
Some of our app features require specific permissions. We only access this data with your explicit, in-app consent.
- Location Data (Precise & Coarse): This is required for our "Find a Mechanic" feature. We request access to your device's location to find, rank, and display nearby automotive workshops. Your location is only used for this single purpose and is not stored or used for tracking.
- Camera & Photos: We request access to your camera and/or photo library to allow you to upload images of auto parts for our AI identification feature.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain our Services.
- To create and manage your account and your "My Garage" profile.
- To identify the correct auto parts for your specific vehicle.
- To find and recommend nearby mechanics (this is the sole purpose of using your Location Data).
- To save and display your Chat History and "My RFQs" status.
- To communicate with you, including sending password reset links and responding to support requests.
- To improve and personalize our Services.
- To ensure security and prevent fraud.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it in the following limited circumstances:

With Service Providers: We share information with
third-party vendors who help us operate our Services. This includes:
- Supabase: Our backend provider for database hosting and authentication.
- Google (Gemini AI): Your anonymous part queries and DIY questions are sent to the Google Gemini API to generate answers.
- Google (Places API): Your location coordinates and search query (e.g., "mechanic") are sent to the Google Places API to find nearby workshops.
- NHTSA (vPIC API): Your VIN is sent to the public NHTSA API to decode vehicle details.
- With Our Affiliates: We may share information within our corporate family (AUTOTEK USA INC., AUTOTEK FZCO) for operational purposes.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to a valid legal request (e.g., a subpoena).
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have control over your information:
- My Garage: You can remove your saved vehicle at any time from the "My Garage" section of the app.
- Chat History: You can delete individual chat conversations from the "Chat History" menu.
- Location: You can enable or disable location permissions at any time in your device's settings. Disabling it will only prevent the "Find a Mechanic" feature from working.
- Camera/Photos: You can disable camera and photo permissions at any time in your device's settings.
- Data Removal & Account Deletion: To request the removal of your data or the deletion of your account, please contact our Data Privacy team at: support@autotek.io.
6. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and administrative security measures to protect your information. All data is handled over secure (HTTPS) connections. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located outside of your state, province, or country (including the USA and UAE) where the data protection laws may differ. We take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
